Land Rover is today unveiling a family of gently chiselled full-size 4x4s – think of it as Solihull’s answer to the changing zeitgeist and the next step in Land Rover’s greening of its range. The new Discovery gains a clean new diesel and can now claim a 30mpg average; there’s also a new interior and an exterior facelift – enough to warrant a new Discovery 4 badge. The big news under the bonnet of Discovery 4 is the arrival of the new Jaguar Land Rover 3.0-litre V6 diesel.
The new Jaguar F-Type has a starring role in the new Burning Desire video from Lana Del Rey, Jaguar’s F-Type ‘Ambassador’. Last summer, as the new Jaguar F-Type stared to garner headlines, Jaguar announced that they were signing up the talented Lana Del Rey to help promote the new F-Type, imbuing their new sports car with a bit of cool in the process. And Ms Del Rey was a clever choice; just like the F-Type she manages to be very ‘now’ yet still manages to evoke the cool of the past without relying on that to define herself.
The Mercedes CLS 63 AMG Shooting Brake has been officially revealed by Mercedes-Benz ahead of a public debut at the 2012 Paris Motor Show. We had the reveal of the Mercedes CLS Shooting Brake just over a week ago, the surprise appearance of a camouflaged prototype CLS 63 AMG Shooting Brake at Goodwood and, finally, the real Mercedes CLS 63 AMG Shooting Brake appearing last week in an unannounced Mercedes video. And now we get the official details – and some photos – of the new CLS 63 AMG version of the Shooting Brake ahead of its likely public debut at the Paris Motor Show in September.
